Personally I believe that most people start out as basically bisexual, and that heterosexuality is a behaviour pattern taught by social pressure and upbringing, a philosophy supported by Freud who referred to it as innate bisexuality. Since I had a very open and supportive childhood the heterosexual imprint was never one which was impressed on me to any great extent, and so I haven't strayed from the innate bisexual template to any great degree. It has been argued that people who hold extreme negative views of homosexual behaviour are in fact projecting their own fears of their innate bisexual urges onto others, trying to prove to themselves that they are normal by victimising those who represent their greatest fears.
