I guess that depends on whether the vampire literally feeds of nutrients in the blood or if the blood is a conduit for a more mystical something.
Feeding on the creatures life force. 

The thought occurred but I decided that Martin assumes the latter. Then figure it out later if it comes up.
Seems like the point is moot now. I do like what Mo did with it.
