Eh... the night was caused by Yukari/Alice/Sakuya/Yuyuko [i]because[/i] they wanted to investigate the corrupted moon thing going on. However, people think the night's the incident, because that's all they noticed--that it was a really long night.

If something doesn't fit into a canon in any way, which this doesn't, don't claim that it doesn't. It's just 'I made something up'.
