Here are four examples, each from different games, with different play styles (and varying degrees of seriousness). Oh, yeah, there's one thing I should've put on the sheet: faction preference. If you prefer your character to side in the beginning with the Unbroken or the Fallen, or if you don't care. I will undoubtedly honor your preferences in selecting the groups.
Magolor (from Kirby’s Return to Dream Land, 2011) -Lightweight character with floaty jumps. Down throw: Throws his cape over the victim and frontflips onto the victim. Floor attack (front): Somersault. Floor attack (back): Backwards somersault. Floor attack (trip): Spins with his cape stretched out. Edge attack: Throws himself onto the edge. Neutral special: Energy Sphere—Magolor shoots a spinning gear encased in a bubble of energy straight forward. Chargeable. -Custom 1: Piercing Energy Sphere—The gear can pierce through multiple enemies and walls, at the cost of lower knockback and damage output. -Custom 2: Sawtooth Energy Sphere—The gear deals more damage, but is slower. As a result, however, getting caught in it will damage an opponent repeatedly. Side special: Spin Charge—Magolor does a barrel roll in the direction pressed. -Custom 1: Beam Roll—Magolor cloaks himself in spheres of electricity. Is faster and has an electric effect, at the cost of lower knockback. -Custom 2: Drill Charge—Magolor’s attack is slower, but deals more damage and has a cone area-of-effect that sucks enemies in. More damage and range, but does not last as long as Spinning Fireballs. Final Smash: Black Hole—Magolor jumps to the background and waves his hands, creating a massive star-shaped black hole that will suck any opponents standing too close into it. The Other Dimension will then damage those opponents and launch them. On-screen appearance: Magolor appears through a star-shaped portal and salutes the fourth wall. Taunts: Up taunt: Tilts his head and smiles. Side taunt: Clasps his hands together and swoons. Down taunt: Turns away and laughs. Palutena’s Guidance Pit: Hey, who’s that? Viridi: It must be some alien from another dimension! Palutena: Actually, you’re essentially correct. That’s Magolor, one of Kirby’s friends from the planet Halcandra, which lies in a dimension different from Pop Star’s. Pit: Oh. Weird. Palutena: He and Kirby weren’t always on good terms, though. He almost destroyed Pop Star while under the magical influence of the Master Crown. He built a theme park for Kirby in repentance, though, and the two of them are fast friends now. Pit: Well, I’m glad that Kirby could forgive something like, well, that. So how do I beat him? Palutena: Even without the Master Crown, Magolor has some pretty strong wizardry at his disembodied fingertips. Watch out for his fireballs and energy spheres. Magolor is very lightweight and not affected by gravity very much. Pit: I can see that. He’s a pretty weird-looking guy. He’s kind of cute. At least, when he’s not destroying worlds or something.

Zinnia (from Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire) -Middleweight (from combined weight of Zinnia and Aster -Can crawl Zinnia’s attacks Neutral attack: Punches. Zinnia calls out Salamence when attacked and it uses Dragon Tail. -Custom 1: Easy Dragon Tail—Longer counter pose, but less power -Custom 2: Quick Dragon Tail—Faster attack with less power. Up Special: Fly—Salamence grabs Zinnia and flies upward. Great vertical, not so much horizontal. -Custom 1: Tailwind—Salamence, instead of flying straight upward, flies off to the side. Deals more damage but has lesser vertical recovery; instead, it improves Zinnia’s horizontal recovery. -Custom 2: Steel Wing—Salamence dives up, then straight down, taking Zinnia with it. Deals more damage, but is more risky to use than Zinnia’s standard Fly. Final Smash: Dragon Ascent—Zinnia shouts to the background and summons Rayquaza from the sky. Zinnia throws the Smash Ball to Rayquaza, who eats it and allows her to Mega Evolve it. It then uses Dragon Ascent to sweep the stage horizontally twice. Zinnia can move while Rayquaza uses Dragon Ascent. Mega Rayquaza’s attack deals a massive amount of damage and takes up most of the screen. Zinnia’s taunts -Sticks her tongue out at the player, while Aster waves like Kirby -Flips her hair, huffing. Aster mimics her. -Strikes a pose like her simian intro pose from Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. Onscreen Appearance Arrives on Salamence, before calling the Pokémon back. Aster jumps on her shoulder. Alternate costumes Standard appearance from OR/AS Shirt colors based on shiny Salamence White shirt, darker cloak, blue accents on shirt and belt Blue shirt, red cloak with white dragon scales, red accents on shirt and belt Uses Aster’s color scheme. Aster becomes Shiny. Uses Salamence’s color scheme. Salamence becomes shiny. Colors resemble May’s color scheme. Colors resemble Brendan’s color scheme. Palutena’s Guidance Pit: Huh? I’ve never seen her before, but that squishy marshmallow on her shoulder looks like a Pokémon. Viridi: That’s ‘cause it IS a Pokémon, genius! That’s Zinnia, the lore keeper of the Draconid people. Palutena: Zinnia is from a different Hoenn region than we’re used to; in her timeline, humans have figured out the secrets of Pokémon’s Mega Evolution. Viridi: Oh, but don’t worry about that. UNLESS Zinnia gets the Smash Ball. She’s got the legendary dragon Rayquaza on call! Pit: So now it’s three against one?! Not fair! Viridi: Will you calm down? You simply have to keep the Smash Ball away from Zinnia so she can’t send her dragon-B-F-F soaring across the field with its Dragon Ascent move. Pit: Easy-peasy. It doesn’t look like she can take to the air too well. Viridi: Oh, did I mention she has a second friend? With wings? Pit: Oh, come on! FOUR AGAINST ONE?! Palutena: Even without Rayquaza, Zinnia packs quite a punch with her partners Aster and Salamence. You’ve especially got to watch out for Salamence’s Dragon Tail. Don’t attack if you see Zinnia holding up her Poké Ball.

Octodad (from Octodad, 2010) -A strangely-moving character whose awkward movements hinder his speed and jump, but make up for that with power and defense and fantastic recovery. Neutral special: Tentacle Tires—Octodad uses his limbs to roll to either side. Press the button again at the end to make Octodad lash out with his tentacles. -Custom 1: Quick Tentacle Tires—Faster with more damage, but cannot turn around. -Custom 2: Heavy Tentacle Tires—Slow to start and slow overall, but picks up and does more damage. Side special: Octosling—Octodad slingshots himself to the side, covering amazing horizontal distance. -Custom 1: Long Octosling—More distance, but a different flight path. -Custom 2: Octodrag—Octodad stretches his tentacles out and drags himself across the ground. Does more damage. -Custom 2: Piscine Piston—Octodad launches himself sideways. Cashmere sweater. 8. Naked octopus. Palutena's Guidance: Pit: Shouldn't that father be at home tending to his children? Palutena: Well, that's not exactly a human father, Pit. Pit: He looks like a human to me. Palutena: He's an octopus. That's Octodad. He tries to maintain a human disguise around the house, but his tentacles keep him from doing chores very neatly. He's a wonderful character, though. Always willing to help out. Pit: Huh. Octodad sounds like a good dad, despite, you know, being an octopus. Palutena: Octodad's awkward movements keep him from moving very quickly, but be wary whenever he stretches his tentacles. He's also quite difficult to launch, because he's got suction cups. Pit: I'll keep that in mind. But gosh, I don't feel good bashing somebody's father... Palutena: Nobody ever gets hurt in Smash... too badly...

Morgan (from Fire Emblem: Awakening, 2013) Male on left, female on right -Base Morgan plays similarly to Robin, though Morgan is slightly lighter and faster, at the cost of defense. -Instead of a Levin Sword, Morgan has a Silver Sword. It does not have limited use, but deals a different type of damage, -Morgan has both a male and female skin. They are functionally identical. Morgan's attacks: Neutral: Up slash, down slash, then either a fire explosion or a blizzard. The blizzard takes 1 durability from Rexcalibur for every two seconds, while the explosion takes 1 durability from Arcfire. Side tilt: Slashes sword downwards. Up tilt: Slashes sword overhead. Down tilt: Quick downward slash. Dash attack: Sword spin. If the button is mashed, the attack will end in a burst of ice. Takes 1 durability from Rexcalibur. Neutral aerial: Fast double slash. Forward aerial: Morgan leans forward and slashes twice. Can KO at about 150%. Back aerial: Morgan leans backward for a slash angled slightly downward. Up aerial: Upward slash similar to Robin's; KOs at about 125%. Down aerial: Rapid downward jabs. Has the meteor effect. Grab: Magic grab; smaller range than Robin's, but significantly less lag. Neutral special: Thunder—Charges to Elthunder, Arcthunder, and Mjölnir. Mjölnir strikes the ground and electrifies the floor for a few seconds, making it more dangerous than Robin's Thoron. Morgan's Thunder takes longer to charge, however. -Custom 1: Quick Thunder—Extremely quick to reach Mjölnir, but it does less damage and Mjölnir lasts for a shorter time. -Custom 2: Straight Mjölnir—Immediately casts Mjölnir, dealing more damage. Slower to execute, and sparks the floor for about one second. Side special: Arcfire—Identical to Robin's. -Custom 1: Bolganone—Opens a fissure directly underneath the opponent. Causes burying and burn damage, but is slower to execute. -Custom 2: Valflame—Stronger and faster, but does not cause trapping, and fires in a straight path. Up special: Rexcalibur—Hurls Morgan into the air using a frigid tornado. Contact with the tornado causes freezing. -Custom 1: Arcwind—Throws Morgan higher and does more damage, but does not cause freezing, and the AOE is smaller. -Custom 2: Wilderwind—High launch and higher horizontal recovery, but lower damage. Down special: Nosferatu—Restores Morgan by damage dealt. -Custom 1: Aversa's Night—Restores double the health to Morgan but lasts for a shorter time. -Custom 2: Mire—Strikes from afar. Robin wins against Morgan: "You'll need to work a bit harder than that, son." Both: -"Mother/Father, I won..." Male Morgan: -"Game over." -"Ha! Checkmate!" -"Like Mother says: 'A good tactician has nothing to fear!'" Female Morgan: -"I'm unstoppable!" -"I love watching you scream." -"Heh. Amateur." Alternate costumes 1. Standard male appearance. 2. Standard female appearance. 3. Colors based on Laurent. 4. Colors based on Lucina. 5. Colors based on Inigo. 6. Colors based on Nah. 7. Colors based on Yarne. 8. Colors based on Noire. Palutena's Guidance: Pit: Hey... Did Robin get a haircut? Viridi: That's like asking, "Did Robin get shorter?" That's Morgan, dingus! Palutena: Morgan is the child of Robin, and hails from a distant future. Morgan doesn't seem to be from the same future as Lucina, though... Viridi: Morgan hasn't got many memories of the future, either. Pit: Does that mean Morgan's forgotten how to fight? This'll be easy! Palutena: I wouldn't be so quick to underestimate Morgan. Like the parent, our young tactician friend also has some very potent magic; arguably, it's even more powerful than Robin's. Viridi: You better watch out for Morgan's wind magic. It's a cold move. Literally. You'll freeze if you touch it. Pit: ...Ooo-kay. Morgan's pretty strong. Palutena: It's that self-motivated drive, Pit. Take a lesson from Morgan. Anyway, Morgan also suffers from the same weapon durability issue as Robin, so use that to your advantage.
