Damian Gerard
Damian didn't answer right away, his head still in his hands. He couldn't understand it, why she was being so...reasonable. And then she asked it, the one question he had a million answers for. "So why would I hate you?" Damian didn't answer right away though, didn't realize he hadn't answered her. He just sat and thought, picking the best answer based on everything he knew about Penny. And then he had it, the reason she should hate him. "You know why you should hate me? Because it took me years to even regret that I'd done it. At first I thought it was because I had been so young when it happened, because I'd grown up around it, that that was why I didn't regret it. But, over the last two, as I've thought on it during my training, I realize it was because I was proud of what I'd done." Damian looks up and shakes his head. "I'm ashamed of that fact, of myself. I thought Hemlock's words would help me move past it, but...those men might have been bad, maybe even evil, but that didn't make killing them right. And even though I regret it, I could feel that small part of me that was proud, that said 'Those men were evil. They'd have hurt others given a second chance. I did the right thing.' And..." Damian stopped talking before he dug himself a deeper hole and sat quietly for a couple minutes. He was shaking, but he didn't know why, so to help his nerves, he pulled Durandal free of it's sheath and set the blade back in his lap. He ran a finger along the edge of the blade, still silent, before he finally found the will to speak again. "I'm sorry, I just..I just didn't realize how hard it would be to answer these questions and I knew yours would be the hardest because I-" Damian hesitated, then sighed. Already started the sentence, might as well finish it. He takes a deep breath and then finishes the sentence he'd started. "Because I love you." And that was the reason he couldn't look her in the eye either.
Ammy Silver|Dragon Fang Guild Hall
Ammy looked to Shujin and smiled, nodding. "Master Jack knows what he's doing, but I almost wish he'd chosen Jake instead. I'm not one for overly long conversation or large spectacles like the Games, but I'll go and do my best. And just maybe," Ammy smiles, "We will win it. But there'll be stiff competition. You know Phoenix Wing will be there."
Jack Goran|Dragon Fang Guild Hall
Jack had been listening to Shujin and Ammy talk, with Jake sitting at a table with Hunter and Zev having a drink in the Dragon Slayer's honor for making the team when Prince called out to him about taking Zephyr and their new member Micheal on a job. Approaching them and reading the job over, he nods and hands the flier back to Prince, albeit with a shaky hand. "Alright, stay safe and don't let our new member get in over his head. I'm trusting you two." With a smile, Jack goes over to where he saw Jackie sitting and sits down next to her. "I see you're still working on your mist make magic. No reaction for making it on to Team Dragon Fang?"
James Hunt|Phoenix Wing Guild Hall
James chuckled at Gideon as he worried about whether or not he needed to form a team to take on a job and put a hand on his shoulder. "No need to worry about teams, people take solo jobs all the time. Hell, I did over the last couple of weeks, more pay for me to be able to keep up with my rent in my apartment in town. But team jobs are more fun on the basis that you have company to talk to."
