Unlike the excitable genin that had accompanied them, the nineteen year old chunin didn't exactly enjoy standing beneath the rain; drying off was always difficult and annoying, and he could have used all the time spent on avoiding a cold on something slightly more beneficial. Being in a warm, dry room was far more to his liking. "It does explain your happiness in the rain, however." Of course, while he was thankful that they had found shelter so quickly, there was something about the tavern that irked at him. Why was there nobody manning the counter? Even if the village itself seemed empty (which could be chalked up to the bad weather), there should have been people busying themselves inside. Where had they gone? One did not conduct business without a human presence. It was suspicious, highly so, and Haruka wanted to get to the bottom of it all. There didn't seem to be anything guarding the basket either. If he had wished to, he could have stolen the accumulated of coins with the owners none the wiser. Or were they watching from the shadows, hidden from their guests? In any case, the green-haired chunin could bluntly say that he did not approve of their situation. At times he may not have been the most perceptive of people, but their group was alone in a tavern with no workers visible, with only a simple sign that requested payment for room cleaning alerting Haruka to the existence of anyone else. Suspicion here was logical. "Stay on guard," he said, a slight edge present in his voice. "I ... don't find this place particularly reassuring. I may possibly be wrong, but ..." Haruka gestured at the emptiness around them. "... this is not normal." Nobody inside or outside. Even if he was needlessly paranoid, a lack of people just put him on edge. He needed something to reassure him. "I shall be scouting out the area," continued the green-haired ninja, making his way towards the door. "Ensure that Osumari-kun does not eat us, as the saying goes, out of house and home."
