Well they're not totally unchangeable positions in Sapphire's case. The faunus thing she believes pretty strongly in because she grew up with a father who hated faunus and doesn't doubt a large number of human would want all faunus gone. Also she has a rather alarming inability to admit when she was wrong if it proven to her, she also almost never apologizes. I'm not saying that's a good thing but it's true.
