I don't think stats should matter really, since it should be serving as a rough guide or when the GM feels like he needs to throw some lemons at you for being too inactive that you have some hard numbers to fall back on. However, it does make it less interesting considering that you're playing an OP character.

Different people different preferences really! (I personally prefer a little realism, either go average joe or min-maxed) Though, go ahead with any stat numbers I say! Straight 10s across the board is fine IMO XD
