It's fine, play your character how you want. But if you've ever played a tabletop rpg, just because a dm sets the scene and points it in a direction, doesn't mean the party has to go that way. He set tension, our characters can attempt to defuse it. 

The problem was I asked people to hold off, so I could try to make a defuse post, but Ryan posted right before I finished. So it invalidates it, and I need to edit my post, which I'll do after work, in about 12 hours
