Maybe I could think of a new character, but the long, or really even short, term longetivty of them are very in question. I find sometimes that the character is more fun to create than the actual RP, or the concept of the RP.
I sometimes feel that way as well, because it's easier and more free to create a concept than to put it to use. Often enough, however, once I start playing and get a feel for the character, I grow to like playing as them a lot. For instance, in another RP I'm in centered around wizards, I made Fleo Plector, a dust mage who because of an illness in her childhood now has arms and legs made of dust. She was designed to be someone heavily affected by her disability, but to be very cheerful and youthful despite it, and as I played around a little more I realized that she had more or less come to life. Some RPs never take off because people make characters and try to play them isolated, exactly as they wished to, without really working with other people or their surroundings. If that happens, the character never comes to life, and people lose interest and drop out. I don't really have any specific advice to offer you. Maybe try something you have never tried before; that's something I do with most of my characters.
