"In the year 2021, mankind is ravaged by the epidemic of Gastrea, a parasitic virus, and is forced to live within the Monolith walls, which are created from Varanium: a metal that is able to subdue Gastrea. Soon, children who were born with the Gastrea virus and obtained superhuman abilities as a result, are discovered and dubbed "Cursed Children"

In this case, there will be both males and females who are "Cursed Children", and it has since been 20 years since the events in the manga, thirty years since the outbreak, and those considered "Cursed" have managed to create their own society, hidden, and safe for now. But not for long. 

As they begin to relax, it seems like the world just wants to be tough on those cursed, as a mistake causes another bout of fear, and hunted, not because of the strangeness, but in order to...progress the rest of the human population, and create a race of super soldiers.
