I was going to introduce skills alongside promotions or after very significant events concerning an individual character, as a part of what makes the character stronger.  Since we're abandoning stats as numerals and doing them as descriptors instead, I figured that relying on skills would be a better option for enhanced capabilities.

At this point, I guess people could start thinking about what [url=http://fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Skills_in_Fire_Emblem:_Awakening]skills[/url] they might want to develop later on.
