Enigmatic and aloof, Nine was a survivor of a child-experimentation program that harnesses the yet underdeveloped growth of the adolescent human brain. The goal of the program was to engineer child-soldiers that were able to adapt to higher stress-levels induced by excessive NCM implants. As such, she has lost the capability to portray emotions. She frequently speaks in a way which makes little sense to other people and doesn't finish her thoughts.

Considered by her supervisors as one of the least promising subjects, she was eventually liberated by Howling Sands agents, hoping to incorporate the Ruling Company's own weapons against them.
