[@LHG100]I wanted to keep the main features of the Vulture's Claw secret in-universe to anybody but the fleet commander and perhaps the ship captains because the Ixythl Conglomerate is almost paranoically afraid of leaks.
Oh well, I never said this, did I? But that was my intention, at least.
My ship's unique features were so secretive that many of them cannot be even used in public.
The FTL cannon for example can be only fired when there's nobody left alive after the fact. Say, you can't use it to destroy pirates that chase a merchant, unless you also plan to kill the civilians. Neither it can be used to intimidate people or send warning shots. It has kind of limited ammunition count, too.
In conclusion the FTL cannon is amazing on paper but held back by tons of bullshit behind the desk.
These restrictions may become looser as time goes on. Either by necessity or because the technology is getting exposed so they no longer need to keep the secret.

And well, this is an experimental destroyer. Things can break down or other issues surface. Granted, the ship was excessively tested but this is the first time the YV-7220s will be sent to battle. Practice field conditions and actual battlefield conditions can be as different as day and night. Sometimes you may wish this were just a typical destroyer.
