The small boy was frozen stiff, terrified at the sight of the huge dragon. He couldn't even scream as he had with the ghouls earlier. Ruri thought he would get over it at some point--nobody could really dislike a dragon--but time was a luxury they didn't have. Ruri spun the boy to face her, thrust her arms under the child's and around his body, and pulled him close in a tight embrace. Carrying the smaller child's weight along with her own, Ruri climbed on the windowsill and latched onto the dragon's offered forearm, sandwiching her passenger between the leg and her body. "(Thank you very much! Can you get us somewhere he will be safe?)" Ruri sang over the sounds of the fire. The child still wasn't able to do anything more than stare in fright and tense up. He tensed up even more with the change in distance to the ground. "I've got you. You'll be okay," Ruri stated, hoping to relieve the boy's fears. It would be really bad if the boy were afraid of heights, but they didn't have any other option.
