A Ritual automatically makes magic permanent; basically, if you destroy a cup with Imagination Magic, said cup is instantly repaired once you stop concentrating on it (unless you telekinetically threw it from a great height). But if you destroy a cup with Imagination Magic, then follow it up with a Destruction Ritual, it is destroyed for good.

If more than one Mage did the Destruction Ritual, yes, it would be more powerful, and more than a cup would be destroyed.
