It's actually a video game series, not an anime. Opening rifts to other dimensions is basically Yukari's power as she can control any and all boundaries, usually in the form of gaps that do...gappy things. If we want to get really specific though, Avatar and Teen Titans aren't "true" anime in that they weren't made by the Japanese, despite having the art styles and influences.
