I've had ideas for a sellsword and an old unhealthy warrior, but then I started wondering about my Varan.

The sellsword would have some vagabond who only lives in the service of coin.  Whether it be dice, cards, killing, or pillaging, the sellsword will do anything and everything to make a little coin.

The unhealthy warrior is potentially one of the greatest warriors in the land, but he has severe health issues.  Swinging a sword a few times, running a short distance, or overexerting himself triggers intense coughing (with blood), fatigue, and causes him to collapse and sometimes pass out entirely.

The Varan are a personal race of mine.  They're a northern breed of warriors who value honor, courage, and tradition.  One of their great houses is House Valgard, the House of the Wolf, which has always produced capable swordsmen.
