“Thank you for the assist, Odin!”, Alice gratefully sang once Trapp had helped take down the Mk III. Then she noticed the severe damage he had taken in doing so, as well as his machine drifting towards certain death at Jehan. The surviving Mk II was also nearing towards him, likely to make a finishing blow. Fortunately Trent had turned them into scrap, but Trapp still hurtled away from the Lincoln. Maki headed to help him, and Alice raced as well to reciprocate his efforts in eliminating the Mk III. She went to his Sentinel and grabbed its hand, stopping his plunge towards Jehan and holding him in place until Maki hooked her tow cables to his machine and began pulling him back to the Lincoln. At her orders, Alice took her place beside the two to cover them, along with Trent. “Odin, are you okay? I appreciate your help, but you did not need to endanger yourself so drastically. You could have died!” She took a moment to plant several rounds of EKP ammunition directly into the cockpit of an incoming Ferir and kick the wreckage away when it reached her. She was rather embarrassed; if she would have just taken on the Mk III herself, she wouldn’t have put her commander in such danger. Of course, one’s life is always at risk in war, but she couldn’t help but feel guilty. As she covered Maki and Trapp, she kept an eye on the skirmish between Delacroix and the white MAS. The latter machine still held her attention, even after what just happened. Then she noticed something strange: the pilot of the same machine had opened a comm line with her opponent Gerard. What would Coalition personnel have to say to a pilot of the UEE? Usually she wouldn’t eavesdrop on her team mate’s private comm lines, but...any information on the mysterious new MAS may prove useful, right? Snooping secret files on the Lincoln computers was different than wiretapping an unsecured comm channel with a Coalition MAS, but Alice was confident she’d be able to cover her tracks. The conversation was limited, but from what she did hear, she got the sense that Delacroix and the Coalition pilot were familiar with each other. She could not determine to what extent, but that in and of itself seemed significant. The new information left her curious to learn more, but she returned to her current task of protecting Maki and Trapp.
