Giichi Uzumaki

It was almost certain that death would take him and in that moment, he realized only one thing. That he was too tired to dodge it. His recklessness with the Rasengan had costed him his life. It was not enough for him to have made the battle easier. He was a idiot for not thinking ahead. When Yamato crashed into his gut to drag him out the way, the pain that raced out to his sides and chest was suffer-able. He coughed once or twice before standing to his feet on the branch and gazing out towards the sunset drenched field. Hues of orange and purple flooded the sky and gave the cratered grassland a mysterious atmosphere. Giichi looked on with a fearful amazement, his mouth parted slightly and his body still tense. The intensity was soon chased away by Yamato's command. He wanted to argue that he could handle it, that at the time he had no other choice … But he knew it had been a mistake to use it back to back. Even now, he could barely catch his breath to respond. “I- I know.” Was all he said, though his blue eyes were stony, boarding defiant. If not for Yamato's actions, he would be dead. That meant there was cause to heed his words, even if they came out a bit harsh. Just as he believed that Yamato would condemn them to failure, four, utterly spectacular, words left his mouth. Words that, though they didn't fall out proudly, spoke volumes. Giichi, with his hand in his pocket and a smirk on lips, looked towards Rei to see her reaction. As he thought, she beamed with appreciation. Playfully, he shook his head before looking, more or less, at the two Minamoru before him. I've got some hurdles to overcome if I want to be Hokage one day. These two … they're amazing. As they trailed back to the village, Rei and Yamato spoke on private matters. One that he didn't feel inclined to speak or ask about. In fact, he knew it all too well. While his parents weren't so keen on the idea, other prominent members of the clan had been pushing for an arranged marriage. He shivered at the thought of them having their way. Closing the distance even further, he let his voice reach the two Minamorus. “Quick question, what do you think that “Bravery” greeting was all about? It was pretty eerie and I'm a bit worried about it,” he mentioned thoughtfully.

Daiki Naito

He gritted his teeth furiously as Aoi planted her kunai into the man's heart. The elderly released a dying breath before falling, his legs toppling against the floor with lifeless thumps. Tsk! was all that slid between his teeth. What was the feeling that grasped him now. Was it regret for not reacting quick enough? Resentment towards Aoi's hasty actions? Or … no, he knew what it was. It was the sour taste of being cheated. She had gotten her way. Though her words flittered between her natural goofiness, in the end, all her meanings had led to a quick death for the despaired man. The easy way out was not always the best. But who am I to talk. A Naito who leaves behind comrades in order to ensure a mission's success? His golden eyes dulled that moment, his mouth straightened out. An Uchiha … He fitted a cold look onto his face as he answered Aoi's request. “Right.” he answered and waited for the others to leave. Once gone, he bent down to the dead man and sympathetically fixed him onto the mat. No longer was he in the crumpled position that he died in. Now he laid straight with his arms at his side, eyes closed and face oddly peaceful. He smiled while dying. Crazy old fool. The silence in the room was broken by his intake of air. His chest puffed before he spewed out the flames of his jutsu. With a small turn of his head, he lit aflame the entire room and ceased the flow. His lips singed with heat as he bowed ever so slightly to the poor man's corpse. Sullen, he stepped out with the roar of the house-fire behind him. It'd burn nicely for awhile, even with the downpour. He passed by Aoi with only two words. “It's done.” And continued on towards the beaten path towards Konoha.
