There's no emotional reason for Zero to attempt a combination attack. So, of course, Zero and Gideon would try things on there own first before working together. Also! I was at least hoping the surprise of a dragon slayer would let through a one hit... Or at least that his power wouldn't be reduced to that of a newborn kitten.
