[@Carantathraiel] Personally, I've been playing Yu-Gi-Oh! all my life. For the most part, I have the rules all down-pat, and I've made at least one semi-functional deck before.

I can thank my late sister for introducing me to the anime, which in turn made me want to play the card game.
