[@Lone Wanderer] Not really. High swordsmanship means you have great experience using swords against all kinds of opponents and thus you are able to match those with higher physical stats than you. Someone with high strength and agility but no swordsman skill may swing the sword fast and hit hard, but he does it in a crude, predictable manner and you can avoid him, parry him in a way that would negate his strength and effectively counterattack. 

Still, your character would have to enter limit-break to be able to match Santa's in a swordfight, simply because Mords are physically superior.
