"The cork itself should be what holds most of the scent, not the interior of the vial. After all, the one would need to touch it directly to use the poison." Meesei responded. "You could try to isolate the scent from that instead, so you could do whatever tests you need on the poison separately. I even have something to which to compare it." She added, carefully pulling the rag from her satchel by the same corner from which the others had handled it. "This rag carries Harriet's scent, along with mine and the same individual who found the vial. There were also some others who handled it, but I ensured they only touched this small corner. I understand that it may not be possible to find anything, but I would like to try. If you need any more supplies, I would be happy to gather them while you start on the tests for the poison." She offered. The ability to link the vial directly to Harriet through her scent, or alternatively, to show that it was planted, was information that could be of great use in the investigation. Even if it was not guaranteed to work, it was worth an attempt.
