It's not really surprising, no offence, it's just human psychology. The weak and defenceless as well as the strong providers receive the most attention. People that fall in the middle tend to be overlooked. Not that I'm going to change up my character "just to be noticed", that would be absolutely horrible. Skyra's gonna remain the adorkable tomboy she not really is right now, because I hadn't really had time to develop her.
