I'm assuming based on what I can find that the character is referring to that shadow manipulation attack that was supposed to be directed toward Rhapsody's character to be deflected or something similar. He was sitting with Aisling and Willow Breeze's characters, though, so I suppose he was using the reaction to make conversation with them before transitioning to following the next set of instructions... 

Again, this is just my guess. It's probably best to wait for confirmation if it's unclear.
