Name: Cybil Bach Age: 15 Sex: Female Appearance: Height: 5'7" Weight: 128.5 lbs Cybil's face has a wide, round form and pointed chin with sloped cheeks and a small nose. Her round, hazel eyes always seem to be half-closed, and she usually has a dreamy smile on her face, as if constantly content. Her eyebrows are a little bit thicker, about .85cm in width, and she wears contact lenses. Cybil has braces. She does not wear makeup or jewelry; she's afraid to get her ears pierced, and the first time she tried to wear makeup she failed miserably, and when she played her trombone that day she got lipstick and powder all over the inside of her mouthpiece. Naturally, somebody as laid-back as she wouldn't want to go through all that trouble again. Cybil has a sort of laid-back look about her person. She leans in posture, giving the impression that she somewhat hangs. She does not tie her long, brown hair back, though she does cut her bangs and part her hair in the center. A few strands hang from the middle, and she throws about half her hair over the front of her shoulders. She uses her own hair to keep it in check, tying two braids around the back of her head and then tying them together. She says it isn’t as much of a pain to undo as one might think. Cybil’s shoulders extend about three inches out each from the sides of her head, and her limbs are lean. Her right arm is slightly thicker than her left. Her legs are thick enough to give her some curves, but nothing skinny or voluptuous. In terms of clothing, Cybil wears simple T-shirts, some with more than one color and some with designs on them. Her favorite is a purple shirt with a Swalot’s rhombic patterns circling her midsection. She has one hooded sweater with a soccer team’s logo printed on the back: “SANTALUNE HERACROSS.” The sweater is dark blue with yellow trim on the zipper and on the hood’s border. She ties it around her waist for easy access. Cybil opts to also wear shorts, which are comfy and easy to wear (screw that miniskirt nonsense). She has five pairs that she wears at random. Cybil has a pair of white tennis shoes that look chunky and a little big, yet she has no problem with wearing them. Cybil carries her smaller belongings, along with her trombone, in her trombone case. It is a light black case with a shoulder strap and zippers, with the trombone secured inside by Velcro and turning lever locks. The trombone itself is a standard brass color, with a few rings and dents in the tuning slide. It has an F trigger and is somewhat back heavy due to that. The connectors are made of chrome and the spit valve is a drum-type valve in which a button opens the valve to let the accumulated saliva out. In her pocket, however, she carries in a small leather pouch her large-bore mouthpiece. It is about three inches long and 1.5 in diameter at the large opening. It is brass, plated with stainless steel, and has three chinks running around the lip of the large opening. Cybil is fond of her whole trombone, but the mouthpiece is especially important, as it serves as the link between girl and horn. Other things she carries in a second, shoulder-slung off-white tote bag with several pockets and zippers. Personality: Cybil is not particularly hard-driven, and somewhat laid-back, which reflects in her posture. I wouldn’t call her outright lazy, but she does like lounging like a Diggersby when she can. She isn’t particularly book-smart (with the exception of the area of mathematics), though she maintains herself in good physical condition by running about halfway through Route 3 and back to Santalune City every morning. She’s friendly in a sort of chill kind of way. She is an oddly passive type of extrovert. When it comes to musicianship, however, Cybil is passionate and very, very dedicated to playing to the best of her ability. She tries to practice for at least forty-five minutes every day, working on exercises whenever she does not have any music to play. She does not get frustrated easily, and therefore has the patience to practice those tough-to-master parts. Cybil’s favorite music genre is jazz, and she has no favorite Pokémon type. Cybil sees Pokémon as living creatures and not as tools, and has respect for the creatures. She knows that, from Abra to Zygarde, each has unique powers and abilities. Profession: Cybil is a Trainer and a musician, which would likely reflect in a Trainer class. Talents: Cybil is a fantastic trombonist, and well-versed in music theory. She can play some pretty tough runs on trombone, and has the endurance to play through scores of upper-register notes at complex rhythms. She has a good range and can hit up to a high C an octave above the staff properly in tune, though struggles to maintain the intonation of anything past high C#. Good playing on her part attracts and calms Pokémon for some reason, whether from curiosity or good taste (Pokémon are mysterious creatures, after all). She was able to placate a rampaging wild Vespiquen in her town once with her trombone by matching her horn’s pitch to the hum of the Vespiquen’s wings. She didn’t lead a very fancy life; she had a life typical to that of a Santalunean citizen. She made friends, attended Trainer’s School, hung around and roller skated about the city. Cybil began playing trombone at the age of 8, when she could finally lift it without dinging it up. With the help of her mother, Cybil began to learn music theory and technique with her trombone. Although, Cybil was not classically trained; Cybil was primarily exposed to jazz music, and therefore gained an affinity towards that. She heard everything from smooth soul to big-band swing to the blues, and always had a fancy for those big brass hits. Cybil really shone in the area of extracurriculars, particularly in music. In Trainer’s School, she got the basic types and status conditions and other mechanics and nuances, but everything past that causes her to glaze over. The exception is in mathematics; Cybil takes a particular interest in the power classifications that each Pokémon’s stats and moves get, and in the formulae for damage, stats, and other things. Though she doesn’t think too much about that in practice. Really, who has time to run through a mathematical formula like this in the middle of a Pokémon battle? Cybil liked to gather a few of her band friends and play in front of the Roselia fountain; she would always get a solo in whatever chart they decided to play that day. The music doesn’t bother the residents at all, in fact, most of them quite enjoy it. Come the Team Flare incident, Cybil expressed great concern throughout the ordeal, but could do little since she did not know her way around most of Kalos. When Cybil turned fifteen, her mother and father gave her a gift: a Bunnelby. Cybil actually had a Pokémon now, and therefore had to register at the Pokémon Center to get a proper Trainer card. However, instead of sending Cybil to take on the Kalos league, her parents recommended that she traveled to the Sengun region instead. They felt that experiencing somewhere radically different from home was good for Cybil. However, they urged her to take her trombone as well, perhaps to expose her to different musical styles. Cybil took a bus to Coumarine City, where she cast off from port for the Sengun region.
Notes: Theme:
