Renat was interested to find out more about this Watcher, he didn't like it that there was this mysterious person - well - watching them. The person may be keeping his identity secret for his own protection, but it still made Renat suspicious. He usually did his best to avoid people who were hiding something. The Watcher could easily hide more serious things with the distraction, if you can call it that, of hiding his identity. Edith and Chris were right, they needed to find out more, but it seemed that Cassie probably did not know too much more about The Watcher but it was still worth asking some questions she may know.
