This is actually what happened in another RP I recently took part in; the GM decided to shoot one of the male mecha pilots in his knees and then subject him to torture by limb-eating monster and eye-gouging while the character was forced to be conscious the entire time. The character had to be turned into a cyborg so he could continue. It was pretty gruesome to read, and the GM justified it as 'disciplinary action' when the pilot only questioned the GMNPC's insanity.
