so how about this as a sort of draft you can use for a "history"

Aiden was minding his own buisness, fishing for a good dinner. Everything was calm and collected until a monster leaped onto the shore from out of the water. Swinging its huge tentacles around and around and knocking over wooden houses the monster caught your attention. Grabbing your weapon you went after him. In your attempt to defeat it the monster escaped to town, wrecking things like crazy. But you were chasing after it with your sword, courageous and daring as ever. Then someone in the club noticed you and began to wonder if your courage was something special. But because you didn't have a claim to heritage (your sword looks ordinary) you didn't think about joining the club when a member asked you to.

But even know the want you to come with them on adventures since your skills are excellent with a sword and your courage has already proven itself.
