Actually... since that scene is from The Disapperance of Haruhi Suzumiya, her being a yandere psycho is correct, since she was doing that to ensure Nagato's 'happiness' (even if she was killing the source of it). Moreover, that same personality gets carried on when she reappears in the (up to now) last book in the series, it's just that this time she's just oozing of unresolved sexual tension regarding Kyon. She might not have been a yandere before, but since her fame as one seeped into the fandom even the story's author took that trait in.

Thus, the great Asakura was reborn as the Goddess of Backstabbing.
