The Old Republic Era was a time of tension and the resurfacing of the Sith Empire.  The Republic, eager to hold the peace, signed the Treaty of Coruscant to avoid further conflict.  Unfortunately, this was only a fragile peace.  Skirmishes blew up all over the galaxy between both parties, sometimes through proxies.  The galaxy was thrust into a Cold War, as the Empire and Republic began to expand their territory all across the galaxy.  Many stories have been spun in this era of unrest.  Stories of heroism, sacrifice, revenge, and death.  Which story will be yours as you enter the Cold War?  Will you be a valiant Jedi Knight?  Perhaps a pure-blood Sith Lord?  A Republic Commando?  Or many an Imperial Operative?  The choice is yours.

[center][hider=Galactic Republic][i]Founded 20,000 years ago by explorers and diplomats, the Galactic Republic is a vast democracy led by the Supreme Chancellor.  The Republic is a chaotic amalgam of many words, corporations and species, which often clash with each other.

[center][hider=Sith Empire][i]A rig, militaristic society where aliens are subjugated and the Sith Lords are supreme, the Empire is ruled by the mysterious, all-powerful Sith Emperor.  To Imperial citizens, power is everything; only the strongest ascend to glory.

A Freelancer is someone who wanders the galaxy, looking for quick credits, a home, or fulfilling a personal quest.  They are not all evil, nor are they entirely good.  Freelancers are are the true epitome of space explorers.[/i]
