Say you're a huge fan of NRPs. Well, where on Earth can you find a good one? I'm looking and looking and looking and every one I manage to find just doesn't quite cut the cake. Solution: The addition of a genre-specific classification system for interest checks, and a like/dislike system to let the community know what you recommend or like from that genre. This way, it'd be easier to find a good NRP, a good historic RP, or even a good sci-fi RP without having to spend all your time digging through the contents of the site. Now, I know this isn't all advantages. Here are the advantages/disadvantages that I see at the moment. Advantages: -Easier to find a good RP. -Easier to get great RPs going with new members. -RPs last a bit longer because people would be joining a more dedicated group with members, since others who share the same love for the same topic would be involved. -It would be much easier to learn what sorts of things people like in a certain genre of role play, as well as what they don't like. -Threads that just don't belong for whatever reason could and would get downvoted, meaning the community can help sort out bad threads and make it easier for the Mods & Admins to deal with them. -Friendly competition. Fixable disadvantage: -Some may prefer to use the current system... which would be fine if a system that gave people the option to sort by the Date Created/Time-Most-Recently-Updated (current system) or Most Popular was implemented as well. Disadvantages: -People may take things the wrong way and react negatively to a disliked interest check, when it should really just be taken as a learning experience. -Unfriendly competition.
