Hold the phone, i'm gunna talk about this...!
Alright, was about to hit the hay and then I got to this part where everyones talking about how the laugh scene was terrible. I'm going to have to stop you kids riiiight there, you see, lets break this down. First of all, the laugh is forced, in every dubbed language of the game, including the japanese, the laugh is clearly forced, this is clearly and most obviously pointed out by the characters clearly laughing normally right after their forced fake laughter. Also you have to keep in mind that the events so far have been goddamn terrifying, and what other way can tidus and yuna help to force out that dread that engaging in something they most likely will never be able to engage in, Yuna knows she's going to potentially end up dying and still wants tidus by her side. The laugh scene from final fantasy X is panned by people who have no idea why the scene is exactly how it is. Their going off to die. That's the message. They're going off, with full knowledge, that their going to end up being killed, potentially. Knowing they could end up dying on this dangerous journey, they do the only thing they can, laugh, laugh as forced as possible, to get it out, to try and make light of many people having been murdered, the cost of being a summoner and the agony which yuna is going through. But no, clearly non-intellectuals just think "lol, bad voice acting urmagerd" without even taking into context the weight of the scenario. Have any of you ever experienced someone giving a forced laugh in a moment of crisis? No? I have. A few times. When my best friend died, when my mother died and when my father almost fell into a never awakening coma. I was the one who laughed forcibly two out of three, the last one was my best friend, before he died. When we're thrusted into a scenario in which we have no idea what the outcome will be, we act different to suit that, give ourselves one last minute of tomfoolery before sticking with the more serious tone, a final act of laughter, the calm before the storm. Honestly that scene houses a lot of ominousness to it, despite its goofy tone... Yuna was depressed, and Tidus, being Tidus, acted like a scatterbrained dimwit to make her laugh and be happy, to forget her doubts and go forward. So don't dismiss the actual message of the scene when there's actual context, I absolutely despise it when people don't read into anything, makes me a little sick... It's the same people who think "Ermahgerd clouds emo, square ruined him" without taking into consideration the literal 100% mind fuck he went through coupled with losing his best and only friend... Cuz that's relatable. We clear on that? Everyone feel a little smarter? Everyone feel like less of a dick? I hope so, I need my 10 hour nap...!
First of all I played it when I was 12 when I first played it so no I didn't read into it second of all you your self is a dick for well... Being a dick so it's kinda funny your calling us dicks for only pointing out it was an horribly awkward scene .... Which I don't understand why you got all defensive saying it was an awkward scene because it was meant to be thus agreeing with us in the first place but then going all out to calling us dicks and dumb and it's all our fault was a little uncalled for so yeah others might of played it off but I won't.
