[/quote] But how exactly does that accurately portray the winners achievement? Surely the whole point of a ranking system is to show who is capable of winning fights, you haven't actually won a fight if your opponent dissapears without a trace, especially as it tends to happen before combat is even properly started. If someone forfeits its usually because they feel they've been beaten, or can't win because of the circumstances, so in that regard their opponent should gain points (and more importantly, they shouldn't lose points because they've accepted defeat graciously.) It seems like it would skew the results some if we start giving out points to people because their opponents have ran off, though the exception to this would be if an opponent flees in OOC in a situation where IC you were winning, then it would be up to the judge to decide if you had done enough to warrant points for winning.
