Of course Taryn was surprised at first being picked up and huddled into Sophie's cuddly, fluffy wings, but how could one ever resist the cuddlyness of feathers? But she was 18 for god's sake... she needn't be treated this way anymore... but... but... fluffy wings... Her small internal conflict also reflected on her face, but finally her mind made peace with itself. Being treated like a kid certainly had their advantages. "Yeah, I'm Taryn. But Tar is fine, too", her face lit up as she answered the question that wasn't really directly asked. She sensed she was slowly getting used to her strange companions, but at the same time she also felt a future task growing. They needed to stay together and strong, only then they had a sliver of a chance against Veiss, but at the moment it felt that the group was ready to tear themselves apart if it wasn't for the immediate threat. When she had looked around earlier, she had not spotted anybody who'd she estimate to be that guy or girl to keep the merry band together and healthy. She mentally prepared to be that girl. With all those fighters around, it was probably the most useful thing she could do. The gunshot startled her to death and when Sophie dropped her, she quickly scurried behind some kind of pillar of some sort from which she peeked out to watch the proceedings.
