He is a diplomat first, trying to negotiate for the best deal for all. Yes that does include subjugation, but it need not be cruel or violent subjugation. Happy workers are productive workers!

Magnetism, able to manipulate ferrous metals and cling to magnetic surfaces. This includes 'telekinetic combat' with his spear as he stands back imperiously bobbing his head to music only he hears.
