Name: Cassiopée Duval (Cassie) Gender: Female Age: 15 Nationality: French Current location in the world: Washington, D.C. Appearance: Cassiopée is half-Chinese, which shows in the shape of her eyes and the tint of her skin. She currently has hazel eyes and straight hair reaching her waist, black at the top and blue at the bottom. She's slim, and average height, but because she used to be chubby she weighs quite a bit. (Read on and this will make more sense.) Location and notes on star mark: An 8-pointed star, as high as it is wide, on her left eyelid, about as tall as the eyelid. The Star seems to be unalterable by her powers, as far as she can tell. Star power: Basically, Photoshop. Cassie can "edit" certain properties of objects, limited to properties related to appearance. Result-driven edits tend to work out better than when she concentrates on the details. One of the main (and easiest) things she likes to edit is color. Sometimes her edits can provoke bizarre and unwanted results because of her power's limitations. For example, she can change the size of an object, but not its mass, so she might end up making something much lighter or much heavier than it looks. She can edit materials, making a wooden door look like it's made of steel, but it might still be combustible like wood, or it might just have a thin steel coating with wood underneath. It would also only weigh as much as a wooden door. She's also able to physically duplicate ("copy-paste") and move objects, but this is much harder for her, and gets harder the larger or more complex the object is. In the last couple of years she's started to notice that she can sometimes change how people perceive an object's appearance, or even its aesthetic value, without having made any physical edits. So far she hasn't figured out how to achieve this result; the few times she thinks she's done it, she wasn't consciously aiming for it. She's also been trying to edit the physical properties of objects along with their appearance. (She's motivated by her weight problem, but she hasn't really gotten any results.) Corrupted or Uncorrupted: Uncorrupted. Personality: Cassie is outspoken, perhaps too much. Her mother claims it's because she's too worried about her appearance and is trying to push people away, but to Cassie, it's because her power makes her look at everything critically, in terms of what she can change, and she just happens to voice her opinions. It's true that she pushes people away. She doesn't get close to many people, and she doesn't particularly care about people she's not close to. Sometimes she tries to care, but mostly she's doing it to keep up appearances. Cassie's never afraid to tackle a challenge... but only because she's not frightened by the prospect of quitting. Whether it's because she's bored or because it's too hard, or any other random reason, Cassie will set it aside, for later or for never. She doesn't feel a particular need to finish what she's started. Biography: TBR. (because I initially wrote too much, and it's mostly irrelevant. tl;dr: pretty normal life, yo.) Trivia: - Likes to draw, sketch, paint, etc. You'd think she has an unfair advantage because she can edit her art to look exactly how she wants it to look, but in fact using her power to get the effect she wants requires just as much practice as any traditional form of art. - Likes playing video games. (She never has to shell out for alternate costume DLCs! ...jk, editing all the animations is way too much work.*) - Dislikes reading -- she always ends up moving the words around on the page. She likes math better. - Dislikes foreigners assuming she's from Paris as soon as she says she's French. (This has happened on the Internet as well as during her trip to the US. (see below)) - Her English is by no means fluent, but having grown up in the Age of Internet, she's certainly had a lot of exposure. She can understand it pretty well. Her accent is terrible. Other: Per Aspera Ad Astra Why she's in DC: For Cassie's fifteen birthday and her sister's eighteenth birthday, their father is taking the two girls on a trip to America, landing in D.C., later heading to New York and then California.
There's no actual object for her to manipulate, so she'd basically just be changing how the character looks on-screen. For a full 3D model to look right, she'd have to edit the character at different angles of view as they appear on-screen, with the edits from the different angles seamlessly matching up so the textures don't look like they're jumping around. I think the edits would stick to the character, though, so if she got it all working from all the angles, the character would keep looking like that as long as she wanted it to.

Questions: Is the organization something that a lot of people have heard about? Is it generally seen as benevolent? I was thinking maybe one of the reasons for the trip to America was so Cassie (and her dad) could learn more about the organization.
