-As tempting as the idea is, there won't be any mention of alternate timelines or universes. At least, not by the player characters as they are all drawn from the same universe. Though there may be some extra-dimensional Lovecraftian monster to ruin your day. As for images, I'm fine with RL or Anime.

-Yep. Weapons and armors will be collected from the remains of the monsters you slay. Think of the weapons utilized in the game Bloodborne and that's pretty much what we're dealing with.
