Light is physically manifested in the form of thin walls or barriers that he can freely toss around. The stronger they are, the more energy it eats up. So where a weak wall or barrier that can block an ordinary little punch will barely make him blink, a strong wall or barrier that can block a speeding bullet is gonna wind him pretty hard. He can affect and manipulate light up to ten feet around him. Other Skills: He’s a very fast runner and can run for a fairly long time before he tires out. Weakness: Blake is at his strongest during the day, since light is everywhere and he’s free to pick at it as he chooses. At night and in the dark, however, he’s constrained to manipulating whatever’s producing light at the time. He’s also just a squishy (albeit athletic) human, so he’s not as particularly resilient without his powers. He doesn’t like being called weird, even if it’s as a joke. In some cases it will infuriate him, and in other cases he’ll just get very defensive about it. Personality: Blake is an energetic and friendly young man that often acts before thinking and says what comes to mind first. He’s not a fan of sitting around and idling time away with nothing, he likes to occupy his time by doing something active, be it indoors, or outdoors. He also idolizes superheroes and wants to be one that can help and protect everyone. This has shaped his sense of justice into one that doesn’t turn a blind eye to troubles or crime. He’ll jump in fists blazing if he sees trouble afoot. Though if the situation is just a bit too delicate for fists, he's willing to give that talking thing a try. Blake believes in doing what’s morally right, even if it requires stepping outside the bounds of the law. Backstory: Blake and his brother were born to a normal Filipino couple in the southwestern United States. Their parents honestly weren’t born with any powers. Their father is an average joe businessman that works hard to support his family while their mother is a comic artist that primarily draws super robot based comics. They hadn’t a clue where their boys’ powers popped up from, but after reviewing the family history, it seemed that the boys had inherited their great grandparents’ powers. Funny how genes work, huh? Growing up, Blake was surrounded by superhero media. Superhero comics, superhero news, superhero stories, he had this phase as a kid where he was religiously into superheroes. He was brought back down to Earth eventually, but he was still intensely interested in them because he had people he could relate to. Blake was caught at the age of 5 using his powers to make a foostool to reach something just out of reach of his little hands. After a stern lecture over not touching mommy’s one of a kind figures, she and her husband eventually came to a decision to support Blake’s use of his powers and to encourage him to use them responsibly. To this end, they used superheroes to help give him a proper idea of how he should use them. Thus giving him his superhero fixation, idolization, and aspiration. He didn’t have a full grasp over his powers until he was 12, but it was well known that he had superpowers via the good ol’ rumor mill. He was thought of as weird for it, unfortunately, but his brother always had his back, and they eventually made a small, but tight knit group of friends over the years. Midway through middle school, Blake and Albert received their letters for Herculean Academy. Despite how inviting it seemed, they didn’t want to just drop everything and everyone they knew out of the blue, and held off on going to attend until they were through with it. Other:

Blake has a girlfriend back home. Sort of. He spilled his guts to her before he left and she returned them, but neither of them quite know how they’ll make the relationship work.
Blake does not know how to ride a bike.
Blake likes to collect superhero merchandise, but doesn’t really tell anyone since he doesn't want to look weird.
Blake carries a small flashlight on him if he knows he'll be out late, just in case.
Blake does not carry a modern phone and opts for a less advanced flip phone, insisting that's all he needs.

Real Name: Albert “Al” Reyes Superhero Alias: N/A Gender: Male Age: 14 Appearance: Power Set: Manipulation of darkness - Al can manipulate the darkness around him by changing the shapes of shadows, increasing how dark they are, or by giving it a physical form that he can use offensively or defensively. Albert gives darkness a physical form by pulling shadows out from the ground. Shadows appear as thin sheets that he can reshape from there to make them thicker, sharper, etc. Bigger shadows literally take more energy to pull out, and he can’t mitigate this by pulling smaller pieces out a time. He can remotely control pulled out shadows, as well as unpulled ones in a ten feet radius around him. Pulled shadows automatically return to the object they belong to when he’s done with them. Other Skills: He’s very good at working patiently and precisely, and is decently fluent in Tagalog. Weaknesses: Albert is at his strongest at night, what with the whole “darkness all around you” thing. During the day and under the light, he has much less to work with, obviously. Especially if you diminish nearby shadows, including his own, to barely anything. Squishy ordinary human status applies to him as well without his superpowers. Being called weird doesn’t affect Albert as badly as it does Blake, but it does noticeably tick him off and break his focus. Personality: Albert contrasts with his brother by being the quieter type that thinks before he acts. He’s also a bit lazy and tends to lay about or do little things that Blake wouldn’t have the patience to do. He has more fun staying indoors than outdoors most of the time. He idolizes superheroes as well, and thus believes in doing what’s right too. However, he’s a bit reluctant to act outside the law, as he doesn’t want to do deal with all the problems that could arise from that. At the end of the day, he’s more likely to try talking someone down with force being his last resort. Backstory: Albert and his brother were born to a normal Filipino couple in the southwestern United States. Their parents honestly weren’t born with any powers. Their father is an average joe businessman that works hard to support his family while their mother is a comic artist that primarily draws robot or mecha based comics. They hadn’t a clue where their boys’ powers popped up from, but after reviewing the family history, it seemed that the boys had inherited their great grandparents’ powers. Funny how genes work, huh? Growing up, Albert was exposed to the same amount of superhero media that Blake was, but wasn’t as wildly enticed by them. He was, instead, more interested in the works that his mother did, and developed a shared interest in the super robot genre. His interest in it didn’t get as wildly bad as Blake’s, but it did make him aspire to be a super robot pilot. After all, in a world with superheroes, it was only a matter of time before they were possible, right? Instead, he discovered his actual superpower at the age of 9, after accidentally making shadow puppets that aren’t possible at all on a camping trip with his friends. He received the same support as Blake did from his parents and decided to roll with it since being a superhero is the next best thing to being a robot pilot. Albert had an easier time getting accustomed to his powers than Blake since its main use was more straightforward than Blake’s. He initially kept it to himself since he didn’t want to get labeled just as weird, but by the time middle school started, everyone knew. Despite being labelled as “the weird twins,” Blake and Al powered through it thanks to each other and the few friends they made over the years. Midway through middle school, Blake and Albert received their letters for Herculean Academy. Despite how inviting it seemed, they didn’t want to just drop everything and everyone they knew out of the blue, and held off on going to attend until they were through with it. Other:

Al is an avid collector of super robot merchandise, and likes to build small figures by himself.
Al cannot ride a bike either, but he secretly taught himself how to ride a skateboard.
Al likes to act out scenes from his favorite super robot series when he’s alone. Blake has caught him doing it once and it was awkward for the both of them.
Al carries an umbrella on him if he can during the day, purely for the sake of extending his shadow.
Al has a modern phone and frequently insists Blake go for the upgrade on his already.
