Gaius Secondus
While Gaius waited, he could feel himself calming down into his battle mindset. He took deep, slow breaths, his heartbeat slowed, and his mind calmed. He took every non-essential thought and emotion and tucked them away, concentrating on the coming battle. He heard the combat start to rage everywhere. As soon the archers broke and ran, he and Bubbles were ready. With a nod they attacked, Jeane came out first with a taunt. While their attention and aim, was on her, Gaius stepped out, wordlessly and silently, and cast the magic he had held ready. A bolt of Elthunder struck the rear archer. He had time to cast once more, hitting that same archer to make sure he was down, before drawing his sword and charging the confused archers. He closed on the nearest archer. Gaius's first slash shattered the bow the archer was attempting to draw, and the second beheaded him. Jeane got the third. Without acknowledging their victory, Gaius ran off "Come on there are still more enemies!" he shouted over his shoulder at her. He came upon two fallen, but still alive, thieves. He swiftly and mercifully dispatched them both and waved to acknowledge an nearby dark mage, he recognized as Smiles, who he assumed had caused their wounds.
