Initially a Muran creation, the Church has long since come to be a place of combined worship, bringing together all the Nine Saints under one roof. An organization that has been around for as long as anyone alive can remember it has created numerous places of worship through the lands, providing guidance and aid wherever needed. As generations passed however the Church went from a place simply of worship to one having influence over many aspects of life. From helping to crown leaders to directing various annual celebrations, they expanded their power to nearly every aspect of life. When the technological revolution came then it was of no surprise they vested great resources into companies, making up for what power they were losing as a result of worship dwindling. Church Hierarchy Emissary -- Leader of the Church. Serves for life and supposedly can communicate directly with the Saints themselves. Bishop -- 9 of these individuals serve, each in the major church for the respective deity. Carry out the major sermons for their respective churches and relay orders from the Emissary to their followers. Priests -- Carry out minor duties and sermons, such as daily worship and rites. Tend to reside within the church in which they work. Acolytes -- Messengers of the Church.

Machina

An overarching, abstract term used to describe the latest wave of technology. Some of it is powered by magic crystals, others through power cells, these can be anything from simple appliances to machinery or even weapons. The materials that these devices are crafted from vary almost as widely as do their uses; synthetic fibers hard as steel, refined metals and carbonized cloth. Plenty of companies have begun dealing in this manner of trade, but only a handful have risen to prominence, with each holding a firm grasp over their respective fields. It is not uncommon nowadays for those who might previously have taken up other trades, such as weaving or blacksmithing, to seek out employment in some of these various companies; particularly in the larger cities, factories and assembly lines have formed to employ a good bulk of the local population, supplying themselves and surrounding areas with all the latest commodities. A more recent technological wonder to come out of this are the Helpers, mechanized, Mura-sized beings that are used to assist in every day chores and affairs. They are mindless drones, built generally for one purpose and often times treated poorly due to not being sentient. They are expensive machines, quite durable and capable of performing otherwise dangerous tasks. Some even wonder if these Helpers might be used for military purposes, but no one has seen any weaponized yet.
