You make an excellent point, Asuras. My only argument is that you have to have a base from which to grow from, and that would be the Goldilocks Zone, which puts your civilization's homeworld close enough to a star to generate liquid water and thus habitation. The amount of water (and thus hydrogen and oxygen) would help determine the inevitable size of the creatures that inhabit the world. Many paleontologists believe the reason that dinosaurs were so large was a byproduct of a much larger amount of oxygen in the atmosphere than has been in the last several million years. I'm in No way opposed to larger than life civilizations, but you'd have to justify it how a civilization advanced so quickly. Skylar, you'll definitely have your pick. I'm devising some mechanics for the various civilizations AS WE SPEAK.
