Rebekah Green
beep beep beep NYEEEAAAAA! The ungodly, ear-piercing screech rang out through the girls' dormitories, thoroughly shattering the early morning quiet. Any chance there might have been of a gentle start to the day were torn to shreds in a few blood-curdling seconds, and Rebekah Green awoke in a frenzy of thrashing limbs and tangled bedsheets as she bolted upright and tried to wrestle free. "What on earth..?" she mumbled to herself as the sound faded into nothing. There didn't seem to be any immediate danger, so she flopped back down onto her pillow. The warm fabric welcomed her back, but a few strands of hair found their way into her mouth. As she turned her head sideways to spit them out, she saw the time displayed on the clock next to her bed: 6:45am. The dull red numbers stared her in the face. She blinked away, but they did not. Even thought it was early, they insisted that it was almost time to be up anyway, and asserted that further sleep wasn't an option. She should get up. She was fully awake now, so there wasn't anything else to do. "Oh, fine" she muttered darkly. "Up it is." She threw back the remaining covers, sat up and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. The dorm room was much the same as when she had come in late last night to find her gear sat on an empty bed and her roommate already passed out in the other. She had meant to get to meeting her earlier, but it had taken longer than she thought to wander around the Herculean Academy and really explore the place. The place was big. The other girl must surely have been awake as well, so she gave her a half-wave as she dug into one of her suitcases for some clothes and a towel. "Morning" A shower was her first order of business, then some breakfast, she thought. That would wake her up properly.
