[@Silver Fox] Yeah, he wasn't very religious in terms of Yevon. 
And he is sorta "Do I really want to care and give my faith to a being of a similar name?" 

Like, I stood in his shoes mentally and went "No, I'd be a bigger target considering my heath." 
Just wouldn't make sense to drastically change himself because of one opportunity. 

In truth, I look at his set up and go "You're pretty much Samus and Solid Snake." XDDD
Just more personality.
