That's true, it all varies writer to writer. Though they may have core abilities, how they use them, and how powerful those abilities are...each writer puts his or her own spin on the hero or villain in question. I think it should be fine for us players, as I'm sure no one likes playing a super power person where there's no contest or challenge. The GM/s must watch power scaling more than us, for there's a need to create a challenge but one that isn't impossible while also making it not a cake walk regardless of it being tackled by several supers.
