Hey bros and brosephines and those outside the gender bronary! I'm Taco. If you don't think food counts as a name, you can call me Alice. Now, let's get this interest check rolling!
Last Updated
October 27, 2015 -- Some additional Harry Potter OC's added and some cravings adjusted.
Background, Rules, and Bears, Oh My!

☼ — I’ve been roleplaying since I was knee-high to a Stormtrooper. I started with tabletop when my brothers shoved a character sheet at me and told me to play. I found my way online shortly thereafter, roleplaying all over the damn place: AIM, MSN Groups, literally over 100 different proboards and invisionfree forums, LiveJournal, Tumblr, and (most importantly!) the official Harry Potter boards. The past 15+ years have been quite the adventure across the blogowebs for me! ☼ — Now I’m old and cranky, but still no less enthusiastic about developing worlds and characters and kick ass stories! On the whole, I write around 3-6 paragraphs a post. This isn’t a hard rule—my starters are almost always walls of text. Beyond that, I’m far more interested in quality. Can you move plot forward? Can you write interesting side characters and help flesh out our character’s world? That’s far more important than a paragraph requirement. I’m also trying to work on putting out more concise posts so I can reply more frequently. TL;DR? Quality >> Quantity ☼ — The downside of being old is that my availability is spotty. I try to be reasonably prompt and fair with replies, but sometimes shit happens. Roleplaying is my favorite hobby, and I’ll probably be doing it for as long as I live, but it’s not the top of my list of priorities. I’m married, have two dogs, and I’ve got shit to do. I also have some health issues—bipolar and endometriosis—that can be limiting. Sometimes I can't get out of bed to write, because my brain or my body just can't manage it. Right now, my availability is fairly open—I’ve recently graduated from university, and I’m not working. However, I do have family obligations and I'm job hunting, so I am not around 24/7. ☼ — Which brings me to one of my major requirements: patience! I’m hella patient with my partners—I’ve returned to games after nearly two years on hiatus without any problems. If someone found an old RP we’d worked on 5+ years ago and brought it to my attention, odds are good that I would pick it up again with fiendish glee. And if you are polite and respectful towards me, I will roleplay with you forever. I have several people that I’ve written with for over five years, and a few buddies who I've hit the ten year mark with. But if you won't get off my dick? I will continue on my merry way without you. ☼ — I ask that my partners be older than 18. ☼ — Now, to content! I prefer games with strong character development and at least a rough plot sketched out. Characters need goals and conflicts, yo. I’m all about dramedy, action, and I’m a sucker for underdogs against nearly impossible odds. I love horror, so if there’s an element of magic or super powers or whatever in our game, expect some really awful things to happen to our nerds. John Dies at the End is a huge influence on my writing. Romance is great—I really enjoy writing it, especially slow-burns and rivalries and messy feelings galore. I’m fairly adaptable, and I’ll write to your comfort level re: fade-to-blacks. I’m not looking for PWP. Odds are, if you’re looking for a kink list, you’re probably going to be disappointed.

The Good Stuff!
Now that you’ve trudged through all that—or you’ve skipped ahead (clever girl)—let’s get to what I write. Which is, as it turns out, a lot of things! Here’s the deal—I’ll list out what fandoms and original settings I love, and if I have characters or plots built already, there’ll be a cute lil’ hider beneath the name with the information. If there's an idea you have that you think I'll like, but I don't have it listed, feel free to shoot it my way! Any character with a ► by their name already has a starter post ready to go.
Roleplay Settings and Ideas

HARRY POTTER
It’s the fandom that doesn’t quit. This is, by far, my favorite setting, so we’re going to split this into two categories—canon characters, and original characters.

► Katie Bell (FC: Samaire Armstrong) — my most developed canon. After Hogwarts, she plays for the Falmouth Falcons and forges a reputation as a sharp-elbowed and quick chaser. My Katie is a snarky little shit, dealing with the aftermath of the cursed necklace and the war alike. I’ve shipped her with everyone under the sun: Cho, Krum, Charlie, etc, but Marcus/Katie is my OTP. ►Alice Longbottom (FC: Carey Mulligan) — I would love to explore The First Wizarding War. A cousin to the Prewett family, Alice is a quiet, but competent, Auror. I’d love to write with fellow Aurors, members of the Order of the Phoenix, wizarding friends, or even a Death Eater for some cat and mouse goodness. Frank/Alice is wonderful, but hardly required. My crackship is Rabastan/Alice because crackships are wonderfully terrible. ♥ I headcanon Alice as seven years older than the Marauders. ►James Potter (FC: Suraj Sharma) — My James is more idiot than suave, but he’s good fun. Always down to write with Marauders, Order Members, or a lovely Lily Evans. Ted Tonks (FC: Chris Hemsworth) — A Hogwarts alumni, I’d love to write him with an Andromeda, returning to the wizarding world after a five year sabbatical among his muggle family. I headcanon Ted as being nearly six years older than the Marauders and company. Seamus Finnigan (FC: Shawn Ashmore) — Seamus runs off for gold and glory as a Curse Breaker for Gringotts. This does not go as smoothly as he anticipated. Ten years later, with a bum leg and some truly stupid stories, Seamus tries to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts. Tries. Victoire Wealsey (FC: Freya Mavor) — Quiet in a family of Weasleys, Victoire has always felt a little out of place. Although she loves her family dearly, she and Dominique have never been particularly close, and she feels the pressure to excel. Graduating from Ravenclaw with a healthy spread of NEWTs, she followed in her father’s footsteps and ran off to be a Curse Breaker. I love Tedtoire, but I’m open to writing with original characters and children of canon characters alike.

Sarah “Scout” Arbner (FC: Odette Yustman) — A muggleborn, Gryffindor alumni, Scout very nearly became the Dark Wizards she hunts. In trouble with the law from a young age, she seemed doomed to end up in Azkaban herself. Before the start of her fourth year, she found herself at a Disciplinary Hearing, facing expulsion for no less than fifteen counts of underaged magic for The Incident. The Auror in charge of her case, Eamon Arbner, instead took her in as his ward. She was kept home during her fourth year to focus on remedial studies. The following year, Scout returned to Hogwarts and shot to the top ten percent of her class. After Hogwarts, she dropped her old name in favor for Eamon’s and sprinted into Auror training. In her late twenties, Scout is a capable Auror, with a special commendation for destabilizing the slaving operations of the Alighieri family up north. She’s recently been assigned to stop the influx of a new drug in the wizarding world, going undercover to find the source responsible for dozens of deaths. Scout is an easy going, surprisingly well-adjusted woman with a fierce love for tofu, ridiculous frappucinos, and comfy pants. ► Rhiannon Nudd (FC: Susan Coffey) — Rhiannon had a rather unfortunate encounter with Fenrir Greyback during the Second Wizarding War. She's up in the air about whether her survival was a good thing. Beauxbatons educated, she's become something of the family embarrassment. Instead of following her father into the Auror's office or her mother into potioneering, she wound up in the Department of Magical Games and Sport, as Gwenog Jones' personal secretary. Rhiannon's built an image as a dumb party girl to keep her lycanthropy a secret. She briefly flirted with respectability and behaving while engaged to an Auror, but returned to Page Six antics shortly after his death. I really want to explore lycanthropy and magical prejudice and the aftermath of the Second Wizarding War. Aeron Nudd (FC: Guy Flanagan) — Aeron is a grumpy mediwizard slash walking crapsack of a human being. He's got something of a saving people complex. He's terrible with women. But he's a damn good mediwizard and kind of endearing, despite his many character flaws. Gimme dat St. Mungo's goodness. Nathan Everett (FC: Alex Minsky) — Nathan's a reformed jackass--kind of? He's spent most of his life hunting dark wizards, because he's incapable of avoiding an adrenaline rush, and while he's good at his job, he's been a less than stellar father. And now that his kiddo is fighting off a magical, mysterious illness, he's trying to be less awful with mixed results. I am dying to explore American wizarding culture with Nathan and all the good times that come with Auror goodness. This should totally be a buddy cop RP. ► July Eld (FC: Charlotte Cooper) — A halfblooded Slytherin, July has been described as “unsettlingly adorable”. July rather likes that moniker. Chipper, sarcastic, and shamelessly enthusiastic about dark magic, July was recruited to the Department of Mysteries straight out of Hogwarts. Her research has focused extensively on ancient, ritual magic, especially group spells tied to the veil at sites such as Stonehenge. Pulled into a mystery with an unlucky partner, July soon gets tangled up in events beyond even her considerable understanding. ►Sarai Shacklebolt -- CRAVING (FC: Antonia Thomas) — Daughter of the Minister for Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt, and youngest of three, Sarai’s life has been ups and downs and turns in directions she didn’t even knew existed. A Hufflepuff, she was only fourteen when the War began in earnest. Her father placed her, her mother, and her two brothers (Amir and Princeton) in hiding shortly after the Ministry fell. They survived that—and then Amelie Shacklebolt caught a bad strain of Dragon Pox and died only two years later, a month before she graduated. Sarai was given her mother’s journals of her extensive travels. Thanks to the generosity of her grandmother, Sarai left London and traveled herself for nearly three years. She’s recently returned to troubling news—someone’s put a hit on the surviving Shacklebolts, and her father has taken it upon himself to assign an Auror to her protection. This will not end well. Atlas Holt (FC: Alejandra Alonso) — A Slytherin sixth year from a powerful, pureblood family, Atlas is too curious for her own good. The Holt family has tended huge swaths of unplottable forrests across England for the past four hundred years. Their groves are among the richest sources of wand woods, exotic potions ingredients, and habitats for the winged horses they breed. Atlas is the eldest, and the fierce defender of their heir, her fourteen year old brother, Perseus. Except, the little Gryffindor is far more interested in girls and quidditch than he is his duty—one she desperately covets. Looking for a Gryffindor sixth year bloke to play Atlas’ most bitter rival. Forced to suffer a year-long detention to avoid expulsion, the pair embark on misadventures, get swept up in house drama, and stumble upon an ancient evil deep within the Forbidden Forrest.

STAR WARS

► Aelyn Krael (Personal Art, Outdated) — Aelyn had a happy childhood on Zeltros, growing up in comfort with loving parents in the heart of the capital. A savant with a hydrospanner, she spent most of her free time between school and boys with her hands in a droid or an engine or a gun, tinkering and fixing. At four, her twin brother was taken for Jedi training. Her parents were proud—as pilots for the Republic, they believed strongly in the Jedi Order as protectors of the galaxy. When war came to the Republic in the masks of the Mandalorians, they answered the call. To say that the Republic was unprepared for the Mandalorians was an understatement—and Aelyn’s parents were among the countless dead. She was packed up and sent to Coruscant to stay with her Uncle, a Senator—except her transport caught a bad case of the pirates. En route to the spice mines, these pirates were raided in turn—and Aelyn managed to get accepted into their crew. After years of scavenging a galaxy torn apart by two wars, Aelyn ended up on Nar Shaddaa. Now a mechanic for The Exchange, she’s trying to save up enough credits to get off the moon. Takes place between Kotor 1 and 2.

BORDERLANDS

Maya -- One of six legendary Sirens, Maya was raised by the Order of the Impending Storm. The Order painted her as a goddess and extorted the people of Athenas with the threat of her wrath. Maya disapproved. Liberating herself with bullets, she traveled to Pandora to learn more about her Siren heritage. I ship Maya/Axton and Maya/Krieg, but shipping is hardly necessary. Shooting bandits in the face, however, is necessary. I'd love to RP the main campaign, any DLC, or post game goodness. I’d also be willing to try writing Athena with a Janey (♥!) or dust off my Gaige. I'm also Fiona trash [s]and stuck in Rhyiona hell[/s], and will never say no to writing the con artist of my heart.

MARVEL

► Natasha Romanoff I’m looking for some Age of Ultron non-compliance here. I love farm Clint. I love Laura Barton and the kiddos, I do, but that’s not what I’m looking for here. Wheadon dropped the ball on Natasha’s characterization and several movies worth of build up for Clintasha—and he denied us Pizza Dog and Betty Ross. This must be rectified. I take a lot of inspiration from Edmonson’s Black Widow, and Matt Fraction’s work on Hawkeye is some of the finest writing in Marvel, hands down. I’d love to incorporate more of these titles into the cinematic universe. I would about die of joy to write about Clint and Natasha’s Strike Team Delta days, before the Avengers avenged around. Or Budapest. Yes please. Of course, that doesn’t mean I’ll only write with a Clint—give me your Kate Bishop’s, your Wanda’s, your Sharon’s and Pepper’s and Darcy’s and Steve’s and Bucky’s and Sam Wilson’s! I’d love to write with a Bruce, too! Bruce and Natasha’s friendship is fascinating to me—I’m just averse to the ship beyond ‘Natasha’s been tasked to emotionally manipulate the Hulk for S.H.I.E.L.D.’ I’m current with Daredevil, MCU films, and still catching up on Agents of Shield and Agent Carter because I am the worst. I also write Thor, Rhodey, Jane, and Sam Wilson.

DRAGON AGE

I actually have a Dragon Age specific interest check here, but I'll reproduce what I'm mostly craving in this thread for convenience. ► The Fourth Blight -- CRAVING -- Sarein Goureal An elf from the alienage of Val Royeaux, Sarein forsook childhood for survival. Overcrowding and despair meant she had to get creative to get by. Learning how to move silently and swiftly, she picked pockets and locks to keep her belly full. Sarein grew into a thief, and scrapped, of some skill, becoming a thorn in the side of Orlesian nobility. At eighteen, she was captured after robbing a Comtesse. She thought herself lucky when Senior Warden Givrail conscripted her. Sarein later amended that thought to ‘Maker’s balls, I’m fucked’ when she underwent the Joining. Her first three years with the Wardens were spent training and travelling, following Givrail as he recruited. Then they received word that Antiva had fallen to the Darkspawn, and Sarein found herself mired in war. We'd be playing through the Fourth Blight, using the overall canon events but sticking our poor bastards in the thick of things. I have a (very) rough Rivaini mercenary built, and I’d love to play an Inquisition soldier, far from the glory of the Inquisitor—maybe lucky enough to catch the occasional glimpse—but busy with their own lives and dramas. I'm super craving Inquisition soldiers, actually!

MASS EFFECT
I’ve never gotten the chance to RP in verse—every time I try to start something, it dies in plotting. I would love to explore an ex-Cerberus agent joining forces with an Alliance soldier as The Illusive Man starts indoctrinating his people, trying to get information out and facing the terrifying consequences of betraying someone with that much money. Would take place between ME2 and ME3, naturally.
FORGOTTEN REALMS KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE NON-FANDOM SPECIFIC

High Fantasy World at War Modern Slice of Life Mutants Without Spandex Modern with Supernatural Nightmare Fuel

You made it! If you're interested in roleplaying with me, PM me or post here!
