-Inside Emerald's Gem-

Emerald opened his eyes and found himself looking up at.....darkness. He sat up and winced, his back still sore from...what? [i]All I can remember is getting blasted away by that laser. Then I was flying through the air, and....I guess I hit something. Must've hit it pretty hard.[/i] 

He waved his hand in front of his face to make sure he was seeing straight and not hallucinating the darkness. Wait....it looked different. There was the black half-glove, still, but it had extended to about an inch before his fingertips. He clenched his fingers to make sure those didn't hurt. He looked around this area, this endless green expanse with black sky. He looked down at his Gem, and it looked....brighter. Less transparent. Other than his back, he seemed to be fine. He walked around, making sure there wasn't anything except this odd platform, a bit of pain shooting through his body every time he took a step. He sat back down and thought maybe he'd reform when it didn't hurt to move.
