"She's not evil, just hungry," He explained to the obvious looks of incredulity. "Needs kind of run the world out here..." As the white-haired woman began to walk away, Quinten crossed his arms and cocked an eyebrow, "This place has seen a lot of shit. Nobody really travels alone - you'll die if you don't at least tag along with somebody. Besides, there's more where that came from and a lot less people standing around, waiting for you to approach so that they can kill you and take anything and everything you've got." His voice was stern and matter-of-fact as Alina tried to slip away, his eyes not leaving her. "What's their to lose? You'll die out there by nightfall - there isn't a place in this city that's left to hide yourself, not a good one anyway, that isn't already inhabited. And trust me, you don't want to step on other people's toes out here... They're not so forgiving." Eli was a bit occupied with Jackie's excited leap toward the food and he looked her over curiously. Her tail slammed repeatedly into the ground in excitement and he placed his hands in his pockets, rocking on his heels as the sound filled the street. "Quite an appetite," he observed as she dug into the sandwich, his own gaze moving to his tail, watching the drill spin and stop, getting the hang of its control. Never know when you might need it again, he figured - just in case he didn't find another power or ever used hers again, it was always good to get a feel for one the first time you used it. "You were... born on the island?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck, how old was she? Couldn't be over eighteen and she'd lived her whole life in hostile captivity. "You don't ever think of trying to escape or anything?" Not that any User had ever successfully done so - at least not to his knowledge. But still, one would think that they'd try.
