I was familiar with Herc and Arturia (obviously) and vaguely familiar with Medea and Gilgamesh the first time I read F/SN (though I quickly started researching the shit out of everyone else). Before Fate I'd never heard of guys like Sasaki Kojirou, Cu Chulainn or the Hassans, but after that I got super into mythology. Wiki walks for days, son. Even took a class on Greek mythology in college.
